The Winchester Tavern is supposed to be in North London, but the exterior was that of the Duke of Albany in Lewisham, at the junction of Monson Road and Barlborough Street.

The Winchester was based on the Shepherds Tavern, a pub at 312 Archway Road, N.6. It has now become the Boogaloo:
