Footpads is a single-shot film representing a night-time robbery in a London street. The electric advertising and obelisk at Ludgate Circus have been recreated in an interior. To judge how accurate is the representation we can compare with this illustration by Henry Sumner Watson for an article in Harper's Magazine of October 1902:

This reproduction is not very clear. Here is Sumner's illustration again, reproduced in the Proceedings of the National Electric Light Association Convention, Chicago, 1903:
